Welcome to the Sumter County Republican Executive Committee (SCREC) web site. The purpose of the SCREC is to seek, support, and elect qualified Republicans for local, county, state, and federal offices; foster loyalty to the Republican Party; promote an informed electorate through political education; increase Republican registration; uphold the principles of freedom, equality, and justice on which the Republican Party and the government of this nation is founded, as set forth in the Constitution of the United States and the state of Florida. The SCREC oversees and is responsible for all aspects of Republican Party business in Sumter County.

The SCREC consists of Precinct Committeemen and Committeewomen from all voting precincts throughout Sumter County, as well as the Sumter County State Committeeman and State Committeewoman. The SCREC meets the first Thursday of each month at 7 p.m. at the Lake Miona Recreation Center, located at Buena Vista Boulevard and Bailey Trail in The Villages. If you are interested in becoming a precinct leader, and are a registered Republican in Sumter County, you are welcome to attend our meetings.

There are three Republican Clubs chartered by the Republican Party of Florida:

The Villages Republican Club of Sumter County serves all registered Republicans living in The Villages. Call President Richard Cole at 352/753-2055 for information.
The Republican Club of Sumter Landing also serves all registered Republicans living in The Villages. Call President Haydn Evans at 352/430-1836 for information.
The Sumter County Veterans Republican Club was recently organized to serve registered Republican veterans in Sumter County. Call President Jerry Bever at 352/255-7735. Please join the club of your choice and become an educated and involved Republican.

Thu 3^rd 7PM	REC Meeting Lake Miona R.C. Buena Vista & Bailey Trail
Wed 9^th 11:30AM	Tom Gallagher, Chief Financial Officer of Florida and Republican candidate for Governor, will be at the GOP Headquarters at Market Square at Lake Sumter Landing.
Thu 10^th 9AM	Newt Gingrich GOP Headquarters at Market Square. He will give a short speech and answer questions. This is a great opportunity to meet Newt and hear one of the leading voices of the Republican Party.
Thu 10^th 7PM	Regular meeting of Sumter Landing Republican Club at Canal Street Rec. Center. Congresswoman Ginny Brown-Waite will be the speaker.
Mon 14^th 7PM	Villages Federated Republican Women Regular meeting. School Board Candidates, Michael Foote Dist. 5 and Linda Winchester Dist. 3. Maybe a surprise visit from Hugh Gibson, Dist. 42, Fl. Assembly.
Wed 16^th 7PM	Legacy Federated Republican Women will host Republican Candidate for Chief Financial Officer, Randy Johnson and Candidates for Circuit Court Judge Michelle Morley and Scott Wynn on August 16 at Laurel Manor Recreation Center.
Thu 24^th 7PM	Villages Republican Club of Sumter County, Ginny Brown-Waite M.C. Dist. 5.

Lincoln Day Dinner

The 21st Annual Lincoln Day Dinner, hosted by The Sumter County Republican Executive Committee, will be held on Saturday, March 24, at the Savannah Center in The Villages. Cocktails will be available beginning at 6:00 pm, with dinner following at 7:00 pm. Plans are being made to secure an important and informative Republican speaker. Framed Republican Presidential photographs, along with assorted memorabilia, will be displayed and available for purchase.

The Lincoln Day Dinner is the major fund raiser for the Sumter County Republican Executive Committee. Funds raised will be used exclusively for the support of local and state Republican candidates.

Tickets can be purchased for $50.00 each by contacting Don and Gail Burgess at (352) 750-1371. Tables of eight are available. Ads to be placed in the official Lincoln Day Dinner program are also available for purchase. Prices range from $30.00 - $100.00.
